Honolulu Classical Ballet presents its Spring Performance of 2019 in two performances at Paliku Theatre on Sunday, June 2nd with featured guest artists from the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Dance. 

Students from Honolulu Classical Ballet will join forces with college-level dance majors from the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Dance (Ballet and Contemporary Program) in Honolulu Classical Ballet’s Spring Showcase 2019. The performances will feature excerpts from traditional classical choreographers such as Marius Petipa to modern day choreographers. This ballet showcase will be a thrilling evolution of dance through history and time, showing the progress of the dancer through the years of their study in the art form of ballet.

Oklahoma University School of Dance is a leading dance school in the United States. It is ranked number 3 in collegiate dance programs by Dance Magazine. The School's two companies have gained world-renowned reputations for their performances. Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma (affiliated with OU's School of Dance) are among the few college-based dance companies to participate in international tours to Japan, Mexico, Ecuador, Paraguay, Taiwan, China, and France. The companies have been chosen for the National American College Dance Festival's Gala Performances at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. They have also received awards at the American College Dance Festival and favorable reviews in Dance Magazine, Saturday Review, The New York Times and the foreign press.
