Ms. Lauren has loved ballet since she was first introduced as a preschooler.  She trained primarily with Charlys Ing at Punahou Dance School and was honored to progress from student to apprentice to soloist with Hawaii Ballet Theatre.  Lauren performed in Hawaii Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker for 15+ years and in other repertoire ballets.

Lauren returned to Hawaii after college and fell in love with teaching.  She has taught at Ballet Hawaii and was a Prima and Intro teacher when Honolulu Classical Ballet first opened in 2012 at Ward Warehouse.  She is returning from a teaching hiatus during which her son and daughter have begun their own ballet and dance journeys.

Lauren enjoys working with young dancers as they transition from the joy of creative movement to the traditions of ballet training.  She believes even the youngest dancers are capable of being “thoughtful dancers”, focusing on establishing a solid ballet foundation through vocabulary and early technique.
