Ayami Sato was born in Tokyo, raised in Honolulu. She began her dance training at the age of 5 at The Movement Center. It was there where she studied ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling, later focusing most of her training in ballet and jazz with Chansri Green. Ayami  pursued her passion for teaching young children as a teacher’s assistant at TMC, working her way up to a full teaching position where she taught dance to students, ages 3 to 16.

Ayami has performed locally with Hawaii Ballet Theater under Charlys Ing. She spent summers studying in New York at the Joffrey Ballet School where she was offered a trainee position. She competed at the Spotlight’s Dance Cup where she was awarded the Diamond Award and performed with the Spotlight Elite Dance Team, placing in the Top 20 at Regionals.

Ayami attended Marymount Manhattan College as a dance major and currently pursues a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
